About You

Born in 1988 in France, Cécile Buchet began her musical studies at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire à Rayonnement Régional (CRR) in Lille where she learnt the harp; she continued to learn this instrument in the upper cycle at the Conservatoire Royal de Bruxelles for two years, after obtaining a scientific baccalaureate.

However, she decided to devote herself to musical writing, a discipline which she began studying as a teenager at CRR de Lille.

Her entrance to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris (CNSMDP) in 2009 allowed her to benefit, in addition to her studies in Harmony, Polyphony 15th-17th centuries and Writing 20th-21st centuries, from courses in orchestration, analysis and musical notation assisted by computer, but also of an instrumental teaching in lute, theorbo and old harps, as well as of a training in Gregorian chant. She obtained a Master in musical writing in 2015.

Admitted in 2017 in the composition class of the CRR de Boulogne-Billancourt, she supplemented the knowledge acquired in recent years through the search for an aesthetic that was more personal to her, and discovered electroacoustic composition there ; she obtained two years later her Diplôme d'Études Musicales (DEM) in composition and is currently continuing her studies in electroacoustic composition at the Pôle Supérieur d'Enseignement Artistique Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB).

In parallel to her studies, Cécile got involved in a regular educational activity, which led her to follow, from 2015 to 2017, the pedagogy curriculum of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon (CNSDML), where she obtained a Certificat d'Aptitude to the functions of music teacher, with a specialization in Writing, and a Master in teaching.

Her work is inspired by both landscapes and natural phenomena, and artistic disciplines such as dance, poetry and fantastic literature. Through these themes, moreover, the constant concern of evoking moving forms is reflected.
