Born in 1988 in France, Cécile Buchet began her musical studies at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Lille where she learnt the harp ; she continued to learn this instrument at the graduate level at the Royal Conservatoire of Brussels for two years, after obtaining a scientific baccalaureate.
However, she decided to devote herself to musical writing, a discipline she discovered during adolescence. Her entrance to the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris in 2009 allowed her to benefit, in addition to her studies in Harmony, Counterpoint Renaissance and Scripture 20th-21st centuries, from courses in orchestration, analysis and computer-assisted notation, and to be taught instrumental lute, theorbo and ancient harps. She obtained a Master in musical writing in 2015.
Admitted in October 2017 in the composition class at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Boulogne-Billancourt, she completes the knowledge acquired in recent years by the search for an aesthetic that is more personal, and discovering the electroacoustic composition ; she obtains her compositon's diploma in 2019 and she will continue her studies in electroacoustic composition in the Pôle Supérieur d'Enseignement Artistique Paris-Boulogne-Billancourt (PSPBB) from September 2019.
In parallel to her studies, Cécile got involved in 2013 in a regular educational activity, which led her to follow the pedagogy curriculum of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, where she obtained in 2017 a Certificate of Aptitude to the functions of music teacher and a Master in teaching with a specialization in Writing.
The variety of lessons learnt during her studies has been able to nourish in various ways her reflection in her composition work, which is also inspired by natural phenomena, as well as other artistic disciplines such as dance, poetry and fantastic literature.
