Born in 1988, Cécile Buchet began her musical studies at the age of 7 at the Conservatoire à rayonnement régional de Lille where she learnt the harp. However, she decided to devote herself to musical writing, a discipline she discovered with Christian Bellegarde. In 2009, she joined the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris where, in addition to her studies in Harmony, Counterpoint Renaissance and Scripture 20th-21st centuries, she took courses in orchestration, analysis and computer-assisted notation, and was also taught instrumental lute, theorbo and ancient harps. She obtained a Master in musical writing in 2015. In parallel to her studies, Cécile got involved in 2013 in a regular educational activity to which she devotes a large part of her time. Her taste for teaching led her to follow the pedagogy curriculum of the Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Lyon, where she obtained her Certificate of Aptitude and a Master in teaching with a specialization in Writing in 2017. The variety of lessons learned during her studies has been able to nourish in various ways her reflection in her composition work, which is also inspired by other artistic disciplines such as dance and poetic literature.
